received the "laurea" degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy, in 1992 and the Ph.D degree in "Computer Science, Applied Electromagnetics and Telecomunications Engineering" from University of Salerno, Italy, in 2000. Since 1992 he has actively cooperated with the Applied Electromagnetic Laboratories of the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa in all the experimental activities in Electromagnetic Compatibility and microwave areas. At the same time he has operated as EMC consultant for numerous national companies and as consultant, for main phone operators, for the evaluation of the human exposure to electromagnetic fields generated by cellular phones, transmitting systems, radio and television broadcasting systems.

At present, he is the technical manager of EMC S.r.l. in Genoa (Italy), a spin-off deriving from the activities conducted in collaboration with the Applied Electromagnetic Laboratories at the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering, University of Genoa. Moreover, Dr. Azaro is a cooperator of the experimental activities of the ELEDIA Research Center. His main research interests are in electromagnetic compatibility and measurements.
